Manfred Bleffert’s work in art began with the development of graphic notation. In effort to modify and expand the aspects of music expressed in notation, Bleffert began to explore visual arts and sculpture. The attempt to express music spatially and visually became a tool in his study and research. From this starting point, Bleffert took subjects other than music. His artwork is characterized by a contemplative exploration and the attempt to express silent and invisible aspects of the subject.
